Performance Management Using Balanced Score Card

The Senior Executive Service (SES) Performance and Development Framework applies a Balanced Scorecard approach, which supports the strategic planning process undertaken by certain and Agencies and Departments within the Qld Public Sector. The purpose of this training is to enable the staff to implement, monitor, measure and review actions consistent with the Balanced Scorecard approach as it relates to their strategic plan. The training seeks to demystify the Balanced Scorecard for participants to increase usage and relevance.

  • Why did the Government adopt the Balanced Scorecard?
  • What is the Balanced Scorecard?
  • How does the Balanced Scorecard approach align with the government priorities, the QPS Strategic Plan and local QPS priorities?
  • Identify key roadblocks and enablers to implementing Balanced Scorecard objectives
  • How to action and monitor the intended outcomes as documented in the Performance & Development Agreement

Facilitation style

Most content will be copies of Department or Agency Strategic Plans, Balanced Scorecard Templates and other relevant documents used to support an Action Learning style of facilitation where the facilitator will work with the group to deliver relevant and practical outcomes rather than content heavy instruction.
