International Speaker Series Continues

The Australian Institute of Management will continue its international speaker program in 2011 after highly successful international speaker visits in 2010.

AIM engaged seven world-class international speakers to present across Queensland and the Northern Territory.

AIM CEO Vivienne Anthon FAIM said that the Institute has a clear commitment to showcasing global ideas and insights to managers in Queensland and the Territory.

“AIM scours the globe to find the world’s best and brightest expert thought leaders and business story-tellers for our comprehensive International Speaker Series,” Ms Anthon said.

In 2011, executive coach, best-selling author and champion of women’s career progression Dr Lois Frankel will return to Australian shores. Dr Lois Frankel is an internationally recognised executive coach and author of Nice Girls Don’t Get the Corner Office – a million-copy best-seller translated into over 25 languages around the globe.

Her work reveals why some women roar ahead in their careers while others stagnate. She believes this is due to a unique set of behaviours that women learn in girlhood that sabotage them as adults.

A new book entitled Nice Girls Just Don’t Get It, co-authored by Dr Lois Frankel and negotiation expert Carol Frohlinger, is scheduled for release in April 2011. It provides a broader set of skills that any woman can use to get the things she wants, the respect she’s earned and the success she deserves.

“In 2010, we brought some much loved international business speakers back to Australia, and engaged some new speakers to present in Australia for the first time,” Ms Anthon said.

“The Institute is renowned for holding some of Queensland’s best management events, which are open to managers across all sectors,” she said.

Some of AIM’s biggest events in 2010 featured Susan Scott (best-selling author of Fierce Conversations), Sharon Bowman (education expert and master facilitator), Scott Ginsberg (The Nametag Guy and Ambassador to AIM’s National Networking Week) and Steve Lundin (best-selling author of FiSH!).

The Institute also secured world renowned specialists including international philanthropist and eBusiness protégé Michael Furdyk, Appreciative Enquiry specialist Jackie Stavros, and author and leadership thinker Margaret Wheatley.
