Regions Come Out for FISH!The best-selling author of FISH! and original “Big Tuna“, Steve Lundin FAIM, has educated a brand new following on the final leg of his 2008 Queensland regional tour. Over 1000 practising managers from the Gold Coast, Toowoomba and the Sunshine Coast attended three sell-out FISH! events to network and hear more about the philosophy centred around four basic principles – Choose Your Attitude, Make Their Day, Be There and Play. AIM CEO, Carolyn Barker AM FAIM, said taking an international author to the regions was about equal access for managers in Queensland. “Many experts and renowned speakers visit major cities down the east coast but rarely do organisers consider the needs of managers based in thriving regional areas,” Ms Barker said. “Steve himself was thrilled with the tour and is constantly energised by stories of regional business owners who have developed positive cultures using the FISH! philosophy.” Steve Lundin’s May/June 2008 trip completes a two year tour to all major centres in Queensland and the Northern Territory and following his visits, book sales go through the roof. “Our online bookshop www.managementbooks.com.au has been inundated with orders following Steve’s FISH! presentations,” Ms Barker said. “We’ve also seen a surge in sales of CATS: The Nine Lives of Innovation, Steve’s latest work. CATS is an easy to read guide for anyone who seeks to be innovative or wants to know more about how to influence innovation from the ground up within an organisation.” Since the book’s launch in 2007 the CATS phenomenon has swept Australia and has been picked up by business and government alike. “CATS was published here in Australia as a world first collaboration between Steve Lundin and Management Press, the Australian Institute of Management’s publishing arm,“ Ms Barker said. |
