22 October 2007 AIM Changes Course Catalogue Strategy in 2008The Australian Institute of Management has developed a new strategy for the release of its anticipated full suite of courses and qualifications for 2008. With the advent of new technologies and the way contemporary managers source and navigate the information they need, the Institute will be offering an innovative course publication in the form of an e-book. AIM CEO, Carolyn Barker AM FAIM, said the strategy was developed in direct response to customer needs. “A clear trend has emerged through our customer feedback system which shows that the traditional hard copy Course Directory, although comprehensive, could not be all things to all managers,” Ms Barker said. Released in January 2008, the e-book Course Directory will be downloadable in sections for easy referencing of over 130 courses and qualifications developed by managers, for managers. “For many years we have distributed a substantial hard copy Course Directory used as a professional development handbook by HR and training managers in hundreds of organisations,” Ms Barker said. “In 2008 we will be offering the complete AIM Course Directory as an e-book with embedded links available for download from the AIM website and print on demand for organisations that require a physical copy.” With up to 70 per cent of AIM’s training bookings now made online by both individuals and organisations, the move to an e-book format is a natural progression and allows managers at all levels of an organisation to access course information at anytime and on the move. “For those managers who prefer an easily accessible hard copy course guide we have continued with the highly successful Training Agenda format released with this edition of Agenda.” “Training Agenda is a succinct and easy-to-use publication and provides a complete listing of AIM’s short course offerings along with a fold-out schedule of dates for the calendar year.” A June 2008 to July 2009 Training Agenda will also be released mid next year to accommodate organisational budgetary cycles and future planning of staff professional development well into 2009. In addition to face-to-face offers, the Institute’s online learning company, TheCyberInstitute offer flexible learning alternatives. “TheCyberInstitute offers a suite of advanced courses online that can be taken at any time for managers on the move,” Ms Barker said. “Learners can choose a blended learning pathway to complete an AIM qualification and participants who prefer face-to-face study can call on TheCyberInstitute at any point should they be unable to attend a specific scheduled course.” AIM offers an extensive range of accredited certificate, diploma, advanced diploma and postgraduate qualifications which are offered publicly and as customised corporate solutions. Every AIM course is taught to ensure underpinning attributes that the business world requires are clearly embedded and can be drawn upon for immediate application in the workplace.
