Thought Leaders - Inspired thinking for leadersSpecial Brisbane Mentoring Sessions Location: Brisbane The concept of thought leadership was attributed in 1994 to Joel Kurtzman, editor in chief of Strategy and Business Magazine. He used the term to describe leaders who had contributed new thoughts to business. Among the early thought leaders were Charles Handy who advanced the idea of the 'portfolio worker', Mitsubishi president Minoru Makihara and Gary Hamel, a professor at London Business School who along with C.K. Prahalad showed thought leadership in corporate strategy through their use of the term 'core competence'. This breakfast series explores aspects of the Nine Competencies of Thought Leadership and challenges participants to articulate their own unique field of thought leadership.
