Speaker Profile

John Hanley
John Hanley is the Principal Learning and Development Officer at Legal Aid Queensland. Admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland, he previously worked in private practice for twelve years, including two years as a litigation lawyer in the Untied Kingdom.

John’s passion for life-long learning was further kindled way back in 1992, when undertaking an Instructional Skills Course at the Morningside Campus of the then Kangaroo Point College of TAFE. His 'addiction' to learning also includes a Bachelor of Adult and Vocational Teaching (Griffith) and a Master of Education (UTS). He has always loved reading, and considers a visit to a bookshop, accompanied by fine coffee, one of the delights of life. His current learning and development projects include a series of team development workshops.

He is a member of the Australian Legal Practice Management Association, Australian Institute for Training and Development, and the International Association of Facilitators.
