Glocalisation: Using the Resources of the World to Expand your Life and Business
Speaker: Mike O’Hagan
Location: Brisbane
Event Series: Trends @ Work
Mike is the owner and founder of MiniMovers, a business that grew from his passion and determination to be the Australian market leader for short distance residential removals.
As a strong believer in the power of innovative marketing and communication tactics, Mike will share his perspectives on the dynamic nature of doing business in a world where the boundaries between global and local are blurring. This is known as “glocalisation”.
Glocalisation is a concept that is being adopted by organisations all over the world. It means the tailoring of a company’s offerings to suit the interests of local markets around the globe.
The internet has opened up sales channels and marketing capabilities for all types and sizes of business – business owners can reach lucrative, new and distant markets by being clever about the way they “package” their products or services.
So, what does this mean for businesses and consumers…
- Your local bookshop finds itself competing more with Amazon.com than the neighbourhood book store
- Your local jeweller buys and sells more to customers around the world via eBay than to the busy street traffic passing by their shop front
- Your local real estate agent lists your property on Realestate.com.au before placing a For Sale sign on your property
- Your colleague is listening to a lecture in their lunch break presented by a University professor based on the other side of the world
Is your business ready for glocalisation? Do you know who your competitors are and how they’re tapping into your market?
Don’t miss this intriguing presentation by one of Australia’s most successful entrepreneurs.
