While all training benefits an organisation’s performance, many organisations have a particular skill set that is critical to the achievement of their mission. The development of these mission critical skills, and of personnel with professional mastery of these skills, becomes a strategic outcome for the total credibility of the organisation in its field.
This mission critical skill set is Tactics. The development of tacticians and tactical abilities is a primary focus for defence organisations. The topic addresses the approach to training where the learning outcome has strategic importance to the organisation. An appreciation of the organisational inputs necessary for success in developing mission critical learning outcomes, considerations for the design of career long learning programs and delivery vehicles.
This presentation is aimed at assisting people who are already, or may be aspiring to, Training and Development Officers/Executives, General Managers of in-house training establishments or Senior Trainers.
Speaker Profile
Greg McMahon
Greg McMahon has taught tactics to defence personnel, with the ranks of corporal to major, in twenty years as a military operations instructor. Greg has been a subject master in officer training specialties at the Land Warfare Centre, a Training Staff Officer at the Directorate of his Corps, and led the Doctrine and Training team for security search operations for the Sydney Olympics. Greg’s specialties are in leadership and in counter mobility & counter-counter mobility operations
Greg has had parallel experience in the development of mission critical skill sets for multi-national and national organisations. Greg has also been published internationally in leadership and in project management sectors.
Greg is a Fellow member of the Australian Institute of Management, Master Project Director- Australian Institute of Project Management, National Secretary, Institute of Management Consultants-National Director, Adair Leadership Australia.
