Sandy has over 25 years of experience in the Public, Private and NGO sectors as the manager of not-for-profit, business and tourism organisations and having worked in local government, legal and transport operations. Born and educated in North Queensland, is Chair of the Tablelands Industry Workforce Group, a member of the MBA Alumni of James Cook University and a trusted advisor for many community organisations and businesses.

Sandy is a key figure in regional and economic development in Far North Queensland being a participant, driver and sometime critic of Regional and Statutory Plans through the Gulf Savannah, Tablelands, Cairns and Far North Queensland areas. Sandy has a wealth of local and national business and community contacts.

Sandy is married to Toni and has three lovely children – Kyra, Marshall and Heather. He plays futsal on a weekly basis and indulges his cricket fantasies each year as a member of the Mossman team at the Charters Towers Goldfield Ashes.
