John Forydyce - Regional Chair

John has filled various roles at MRAEL Limited since his commencement in 1996 and has been the Chief Executive Officer for the organisation since 2000.

The challenge of operating a Group Training Organistation, a Registered Training Organisation and an Australian Apprenticeship Centre across Central Queensland provides continuing insight into the management and leadership challenges experienced across diverse industry sectors.

John is passionate about developing leaders and managing culture. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and sits in the State Management Committee of (Group Training Australia) GTA Qld and NT Inc.

Kerry Hine AFAIM

Moved from Brisbane to Mackay in 1988 and worked in various sales roles with leading companies which included Gold Cob Small Goods, Peters Ice-cream, Smiths Snack foods, Coca Cola and Telstra.

After working in Telstra in Mackay for twelve months I moved to Townsville as a Mobiles account executive managing mobile dealers from Gladstone to Thursday Island to Mt Isa for 3years.

I then relocated to Mt Isa and took on the role as customer service manager for a further 3 years and relocated back My home of Mackay where I am currently in the position of Mackay District Manager and commercial specialist for Telstra Country Wide.

Peter Billing

Peter has worked in the electricity industry for the past 27 years starting as a linesman, before holding a number of supervisory and management positions. For the last two and a half years, he has worked for Ergon Energy, after previously working for ETSA Utilities in South Australia.

In his current role he manages approximately 290 employees spread between Proserpine, Miriam Vale and Longreach. This covers the areas of construction, maintenance, supply restoration, customer service and all related activities.

Peter has also had experience in Industrial Relations, project management, transmission services and peak load generation.

Rowena Hardy AIMM

Rowena has acquired her skills and knowledge over a 30-year period working for a range of industries both in the UK and Australia (including projects in Europe and the USA ) which has included a variety of leadership and management roles, winning AIM's Professional Manager of the Year for the Mackay Region in 2002. 

During her career, she has assisted many small to medium businesses and was most recently a consultant with a local Management Consultancy. 

Since January 2008 Rowena has been partner in a new company, Minds Aligned, working with individuals, teams and organisations and delivering facilitation, business coaching, team-building and leadership development to assist people to identify and align their personal and organisational goals.  Rowena's particular area of interest continues to be the support and development of small to medium businesses and new managers in the Mackay region.

Robyn Taylor FAIM

Robyn started her business, Concept Training & Management, in the 1990s with the focus of providing quality management consultancy and training services Australia-wide.

Robyn's career has included positions such as the manager of marketing and public relations for casino resorts in Swaziland and Lesotho; selection and training of 350 staff in a South African fashion chain; national marketing of an Australian training management system; and management consultancy contracts in Scandinavia. One of Robyn's significant achievements was realising her goal to secure the IKEA franchise for Queensland and then establishing the Swedish furniture store in Brisbane in 1987. As the Construction Project Manager and Co-Franchisee, Robyn built the 8 000 sqm outlet, then managed and marketed the retail operation.

Robyn holds a BA (Communications), Diploma of Adult Education (receiving the highest award in NSW for academic and professional excellence) and is completing a Masters in Adult Education.

Nicola-Sue Willis AIMM

Having decided as a mature student to focus on a career in the Human Resources industry, Nic Willis completed a Bachelor of Social Science majoring in Human Resource Management and Human Resources Development

Since completed her studies, Nic joined Ready Workforce, a division of Chandler Macleod. Starting in Mackay Branch in 2001 as a recruitment consultant, Nic accepted the branch manager’s role in January 2006. Nic’a area of specialty is permanent and temporary recruitment, bulk recruits, managed workforces, OHS and staff retention.
