AIM Privacy Statement

This statement summarises AIM's information handling practices which are set out in our Privacy Policy.

Our Commitment to Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. As an Organisation required to comply with the National Privacy Principles, our information handling practices have been reviewed to ensure that they are privacy friendly. As part of our commitment to the protection of your right to Privacy, we provide this explanation of our information handling practices.

Collection, Use and Disclosure

AIM only collects personal information necessary for one or more of its functions or activities. Personal Information collected will be used for a specific purpose, such as Membership application and approval, course and seminar enrolments, book sales, providing professional development and library services and venue hire.

We may also use your Personal Information for related purposes such as marketing (including providing you with updates of our products and services), relationship development, promotion of AIM and journal publication.

Your Personal Information may be disclosed to Approved Third Parties but will not be sold to anyone. We have taken reasonable steps to ensure that Approved Third Parties only handle Personal Information in accordance with the National Privacy Principles.

Approved Third Parties are our Related Entity (TheCyberInstitute Pty Ltd ACN 094 916 917), our Associated Entities (AIM National and other corporate divisions of the Australian Institute of Management) and Outside Service Providers (including course facilitators, mentors, publishers and printers, judges, researchers and other similar service providers to AIM).

Anonymity and Consequences

The provision of your Personal Information is voluntary, but if this information is not provided AIM may not be able to provide you with products or services you request.

Access and Further Information

You have a right of access to Personal Information concerning yourself. You may also request information about our Privacy practices. Please direct any enquiries you may have in relation to these matters to our Privacy Officer, Dana Kennedy AFAIM, on 07 3227 4888 or email at privacy@aimqld.com.au.

Electronic Messaging

Commerical electronic messaging, including email, SMS and instant messaging, will only be used by AIM where express or inferred consent exists.

In providing your email address when registering for any AIM service or product, including membership, training and events, the Institute has assumed inferred consent to contact you about its services and products via commercial electronic messaging.

In accordance with the  SPAM Act 2003, AIM will unsubscribe you from all our mailing lists should you no longer wish to receive electronic communication from the Institute. Please send the email address to be removed to unsubscribe@aimqld.com.au
